Overview

Mount Lhotse, at 8,516 meters (27,940 ft), is the 4th highest mountain in the world, located on the border of Nepal and Tibet, right next to Mount Everest. It shares much of the Everest climbing route up to the South Col but then branches off toward its own challenging summit. Known for its steep and technical south face the tallest rock face globally Lhotse demands strong mountaineering skills and high-altitude experience. The first ascent was in 1956 by a Swiss team.
