Flight to Lukla (2,860m) – Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

A scenic 30-minute flight takes you to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After meeting the trek crew, you start a gentle walk along the Dudh Koshi River, passing through small Sherpa villages and crossing suspension bridges before reaching Phakding for your first overnight stay.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Today’s trek involves several river crossings and gradual climbs before entering Sagarmatha National Park. After a challenging ascent through pine forests, you reach Namche Bazaar, the bustling Sherpa town and trading hub, offering your first panoramic view of Mount Everest.

Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar

This is a rest and acclimatization day to help your body adjust to the altitude. You can take a short hike to Everest View Hotel for breathtaking views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks, or explore Namche’s monasteries, bakeries, and Sherpa culture museum.

Namche to Tengboche

The trail descends to the Dudh Koshi River before a steady climb through rhododendron forests. You’ll arrive at Tengboche, home to the region’s largest monastery, where evening prayers provide a peaceful cultural experience with Ama Dablam towering above the village.

Tengboche to Dingboche

A downhill trek takes you to Debuche, followed by a river crossing and steady ascent to Pangboche. Continuing past alpine meadows, you reach Dingboche, a picturesque village surrounded by mountains and often referred to as the gateway to Island Peak.

Dingboche to Chhukung

A short trek through stone-walled fields and alpine landscapes leads you to Chhukung, a small settlement with magnificent views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Island Peak. This village is a key stop for acclimatization before crossing your first high pass.

Cross Kongma La Pass (5,535m) – Trek to Lobuche (4,940m)

The day starts early with a steep climb to Kongma La, the highest and most challenging of the three passes, offering stunning views of Everest, Makalu, and glaciers. After crossing the pass, you descend towards Lobuche, where trekkers heading to Everest Base Camp also stay.

Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,164m) – Everest Base Camp (5,364m) – Return to Gorakshep

A steady walk along the Khumbu Glacier takes you to Gorakshep. From here, you hike to the iconic Everest Base Camp, standing at the foot of the world’s tallest mountain. After enjoying the once-in-a-lifetime moment, you return to Gorakshep for the night.

Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5,545m) – Cross Cho La Pass (5,420m) – Trek to Thangnak (4,700m)

Before dawn, hike up to Kala Patthar for the best sunrise view of Everest and surrounding peaks. After returning, you cross the icy Cho La Pass, another challenging climb, before descending to Thangnak, a small settlement near the Ngozumpa Glacier.

Thangnak to Gokyo (4,790m) – Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357m) – Fly back to Kathmandu

A short trek across the glacier brings you to Gokyo village, famous for its turquoise lakes. You’ll hike up Gokyo Ri for stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu. Depending on the package, you can return to Kathmandu via helicopter from Gokyo or trek back gradually.
